What is Opportunity?
Opportunity means that if you are willing to work hard, plan, and take responsibility, the system does not quietly work against you. This requires affordable living costs, open pathways to work and housing, and a government focused on removing barriers rather than creating new ones.
Our Problem
The Massachusetts 6th District is a remarkable place with strong local industries, world-class education and innovation nearby, and close proximity to Boston. But it is also one of the most expensive regions in the country. Our families feel it everywhere:
- Energy bills and winter heating costs
- Grocery prices and shipping costs
- Housing costs driven by slow building and permitting delays
- Childcare costs that make it harder to work or save
- Uncertainty in the economy that discourages investment and hiring
Our Solution
Opportunity will return to the Massachusetts 6th District when we expand supply, remove bottlenecks, and make it easier for families and businesses to invest in the future.
This means focusing on a handful of real, practical levers, Congress can influence:
- Lower energy costs to reduce the cost of everything
- Speed up building and innovation by fixing permitting and regulatory chokepoints
- Make the tax code work better for working families and local investment
- Support trade that lowers prices while protecting national security
- Build pathways for the next generation and veterans to gain skills and earn more
