Essex, MA – Today, US Army veteran, attorney, husband, father and candidate for Congress Micah Jones released the following statement in response to Dan Koh declining a debate sponsored by Endicott College and the League of Women Voters scheduled for September 17th, and a second debate organized by the Swampscott Tides scheduled for September 22nd. Jones accepted both invitations.
Ironically, Koh highlighted on his own social media a 22-second clip of his primary-night victory speech stating: “We will go anywhere. We will talk to anyone…”
“North Shore and Merrimack Valley voters deserve a public and honest conversation about the issues most important to building a better future for our communities,” said Jones. “Perhaps Mr. Koh is more comfortable talking to the D.C. political class and cable news pundits than he is with the voters of our district. My three-debate request is responsible and reasonable, and I hope Mr. Koh will reconsider.”
