Not Required by U.S. Term Limits Pledge, Jones Agrees to Self-Impose
Essex, MA – Today, US Army veteran, attorney, husband, and father Micah Jones signed the U.S. Term Limits pledge, reinforcing his support of reforming Congress by requiring term limits, a ban on stock trading, and transparency throughout government.
Although not required by the pledge, Micah Jones personally committed to self-imposing term limits after being elected. Micah would recommend that House members be limited to three, two-year terms (six total years of service), while Senate members be limited to two, six-year terms (12 total years of service).

“Career politicians, beholden to partisan special interests, have forgotten who they were elected to serve,” said Jones. “The greater North Shore and Merrimack Valley communities that make up the Massachusetts Sixth Congressional District have become casualties of Washington’s disfunction. I’m running for Congress to not only help make the Massachusetts Sixth Congressional District become the best place to raise a family, start a business, and a build a life, but to also bring people together around common sense and broadly supported ideas to make our federal government work better for all Americans -like imposing term limits and banning individual stock trading for members of Congress.”
